Fireworks return to Fayetteville during Bikes, Babes & Bling

  • by Dustin Bartholomew, Flyer Staff
    on June 17, 2010 at 10:42 am

Almost every year for my entire childhood, my family and I would load up the minivan and head to the Northwest Arkansas Mall to watch the city’s annual fireworks display on or around the 4th of July.

A few years ago, the fireworks were moved to Baum Stadium, and two years ago, the city discontinued the fireworks display due to budget constraints.

This year, the folks behind Bikes, Babes & Bling look to re-kindle (sorry) the annual fireworks tradition in Fayetteville, this time on Dickson Street.

According to 40/29, the fledgling event will host their own fireworks display from atop the Walton Arts Center on Saturday, July 3.

But will it be any good, or are they just going out to Uncle Sams and buying the biggest things they can find?

IIRC the whole budget for this debacle is smaller than the price for a decent fireworks display.

Bikes, Babes, & Bling has tapped Riverside Entertainment to execute the show. It will not be the high dollar show that once was aired at Baum Stadium, but the rally wanted to give something back to the community, and Riverside Fireworks has made that feasible for us to do so. Thanks to Tim and Tonya for all of their hard work!

Riverside Fireworks is a great local business. I am so delighted they are bringing fireworks back to Fayetteville. They will give a great show at a very affordable rate. Thank you Coleson and the rally for this great addition to the 4th of July weekend!
