The most famous (and only) Arkansas musician ever to win American Idol is coming to town in a couple weeks.
American Idol winner and Conway native Kris Allen will be making a stop at George’s for a show on Monday, July 5.
Allen edged out Adam Lambert in 2009 to take the Idol Crown. He’s since sold nearly 300,000 of his self-titled second album (the first since winning Idol), released in November of 2009.
He was last in town in June of last year for the annual Walmart shareholders meeting at Bud Walton Arena.
Tickets to the show are $25, and are available through George’s ticketing site.

Maybe he’ll for once get an audience. He was here in Tennesse and he couldn’t even sell half of a really small venue. It was a pretty boring show. I worked that night at The Cannery where he performed and we rarely see that small a crowd. Our local critic thought he was terrible and since Nashville is a big music town that speaks volumes. But he’s from Arkansas right so maybe he’ll wake up.

Um. Wrong wrong and wrong. The USA Today critic was at the Nashville show and really enjoyed himself (he posted his recap and his tweets were favorable throughout the night). What local critic are you talking about? As far as I know, none of the local critics even were there (there were no reviews of the show in the Nashville paper), so how could they have hated it? There were also around 600-700 people at the show — NOT exactly a small crowd. And it wasn’t boring — the crowd LOVED it. Again, check out the tweets from that night or the YT videos and you will get a much different view of that show than what you claim to have seen. Maybe YOU thought it was boring, but yours was clearly a minority opinion.
I have a feeling Nashvillestar wasnt even at the concert that night. Sounds like a glambert or just some very bitter person. I saw Kris when he was in Benton Memorial Day weekend and he puts on an amazing show! Its definately not boring. Kris has an awesome band that ROCKS!!! Hes been getting great reviews and people love him. Also hes sold like 309,000 cds not nearly 300,000(just saying)Anyway Kris has a beautiful voice and you wont leave the show dissapointed. Watch any of his you tube videos from his concerts and you will see how amazing he is. Actually the videos dont even do Kris and his band justice. He is an amazing live performer. Dont miss this show if you can go.
