Tuesday To-do: June 29

It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for an important non-local news roundup. Ready, set, go.

Sorry England, sorry Mexico – FIFA apologized to two teams for blown calls during their teams’ World Cup defeats. President Sepp Blatter said it would be “nonsense” not to revisit the issue of video review.

Facebook Killer? – First there was Friendster. Then there was MySpace. Now it’s Facebook. So what’s next? Google Me, maybe.

The most armed states – The Supreme Court’s Monday ruling declared that the right to bear arms is a federal mandate. To celebrate, the folks at The Daily Beast did a little digging to determine which states pack the most guns. Anybody wanna know where Arkansas sits?

Enough news.

Hank III is at George’s. The grandson of Hank Williams is still known for his Jekyl and Hyde live shows which feature a little country, a little “hellbilly” and a little Assjack. Not sure what all that means? Have a listen over at his MySpace page.

Tonight’s list is pretty short. There’s live jazz at Scarpino’s, a chess tourney at Smoke & Barrel and a few other options.

List:

Tuesday, June 29, 2010
JJ’s Grill n Chill: Jeff Fox
Jose’s: Pope County Bootleggers
Teatro Scarpino: McCleod/Burson Quartet
Smoke & Barrel Tavern: Chess Tournament
George’s: Hank III / Assjack
