Orange Mango to become Moonberries Frozen Yogurt

After just five months in business, Orange Mango Frozen Yogurt is changing its name today.

The popular frozen yogurt store on Dickson Street will be come Moonberries Frozen Yogurt when a new sign is installed Tuesday morning, and they’ll celebrate by giving away 5 ounces of free yogurt to anyone who stops by before the end of the day.

Chad Simpson, manager of the shop said the name change comes to avoid potential legal problems down the road.

“We wanted a more unique name,” Simpson said. “Something that we can grow with that won’t cause legal problems or trademark issues later.”

There’s already a chain of yogurt shops called Red Mango with over 100 locations in the U.S. There’s also an Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt franchise with locations as close to Fayetteville as Tulsa and Branson.

Interestingly, there’s another one called Pinkberry with a lot of stores nationwide.

Simpson stressed that outside of the new name, everything else will stay the same at the Dickson Street store.

“We’ve still got the same owners, the same employees, and the same great products. We’re just trying to expand our brand, and the new name is a little more unique to help us do that,” he said.

Simpson also told us that the new store planned for Joyce Blvd. in the spring is currently on hold.

“We had to change our name, so we couldn’t do anything until we did that. Right now we’re looking at locations in the Bentonville/Rogers area. That will start pretty soon,” he said.

In the meantime, free yogurt?
