City council candidate forum set for Thursday

If you’re tired of reading about what the city council candidates think and you’re ready to hear them speak, considering attending this week’s public forum hosted by The Fayetteville Council of Neighborhoods.

The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and KUAF’s Kyle Kellams (a.k.a. Fayetteville’s favorite master of ceremonies) will serve as the emcee.

After giving an introductory statement, each candidate from wards 2 and 4 will participate in a Q&A session which will include some time for audience questions in addition to the prepared forum questions. Afterwards, the candidates will offer closing statements.

Ward 2 candidates include Adam Fire Cat and Mark Kinion. Ward 4 will feature Rhonda Adams and Jeff Dickey.

No one filed to run against Adella Gray in Ward 1, and in Ward 3, Justin Tennant was the only resident to file for the open seat.

For more information contact Julie McQuade, the city’s community outreach coordinator, at 575-8302.
