Dan Dean, A Good Fight need votes in national competitions

Remember when just over a year ago, we came so close to voting 3 Penny Acre into Austin City Limits?

Not too long before that, we voted Cletus Got Shot into the final five for an Independent Music Award.

Sometimes, we gotta help our fellow Fayettevilleians out.

This week, two more Fayetteville artists are in need of a little bit of internet voting love for various reasons, and here’s some information on how to help.

Fayetteville band A Good Fight is in the final 14 in AMP magazine’s Unsigned Band Contest, and are currently in the lead by almost 200 votes. The voting closes tomorrow, and if they win, they’ll get a spread in the magazine.

Dan Dean (The Rox, Candy Lee & The Sweets) needs some votes in yourolivebranch.com’s I Love Fair Trade competition. Dean wrote a song, “Wake Up and Support Fair Trade,” and his song made the top 10 among poetry, videos, art and other media. If Dan wins, he’ll get $2,000 in fair trade goods.

If you vote, you should vote for the Fayetteville peeps. We’ve got to stick together. Right?
