Allyson Twiggs Dyer resigns as visitors bureau director

    on October 18, 2010 at 12:03 pm

Fayetteville Visitors Bureau director Allyson Twiggs Dyer resigned last week, and will soon lead the Rogers Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Twiggs Dyer was hired in 2002 to create and manage the visitors bureau. Her resignation was effective as of Wednesday, Oct. 13.

“It was a tough decision for me to leave the Fayetteville Visitors Bureau, but I could not pass up the great opportunity that Rogers has presented me,” said Twiggs Dyer. “I really feel like I can make a difference at the Rogers Convention and Visitors Bureau, and that probably excites me the most.”

A&P Executive Director Marilyn Heifner will assume Twiggs Dyer’s duties until a replacement can be hired. Heifner said she is not sure how she will go about filling the position at this time

“I’m just going to take a deep breath for a couple days and figure out what to do,” Heifner said. “Allyson did a good job for us, and I’m sure she’ll do a good job for Rogers, too.”

Twiggs Dyer will begin her new position as director of the Rogers Convention and Visitors Bureau on Monday, Nov. 1.
