If you’ve been following the paid parking saga on Dickson Street, you know that several business owners have complained about significant revenue declines since the program went into effect.
George’s Majestic Lounge is one local business, however, who isn’t taking the reported decrease in revenue laying down. The bar today announced on Facebook that it will offer free parking to the first 100 Friday happy hour customers.

Starting today the first 100 paid Friday happy hour customers get free parking at The Underwood Parking Deck next to George’s. Just pay your cover charge and get a parking pass to take back and put in your car window to park all night long.
The cover for happy hour at George’s on Friday nights is always $5, so basically, if you were going to head down there anyway, your cover charge to start the evening will also cover your parking in the Underwood Plaza parking deck for the entire night.
George’s owner Brian Crowne said he’ll run the free happy hour parking experiment for the next month, and evaluate it from there.
