The Washington County Election Commission released the unofficial voting results and it looks like the Fayetteville City Council will see three new faces in 2011.
In Ward 2, Mark Kinion defeated Adam Fire Cat. Kinion, who received 2,092 votes (77%) to Cat’s 640 votes (23%), will replace Kyle Cook and serve next to Matthew Petty.
Rhonda Adams defeated Jeff Dickey in Ward 4, receiving 2,199 votes (62%) to Dickey’s 1,347 votes (38%). Adams will replace Shirley Lucas and take the seat next to Sarah Lewis.
Two unopposed candidates also won Tuesday night. Justin Tennant will take over for Robert Rhoads in Ward 3, and incumbent Adella Gray will keep her Ward 1 position.

Maybe Tennant will in his first year have more seat time than Rhoades did his entire time as alderman. Speaking about his absents.
We are very fortunate to have people like this willing to serve on our City Council. It takes time and effort, and sometimes a hard shell. My hat is off to them.
I hope these three can bring some wisdom to a misguided city council. I can’t ever remember a more misguided and inept council than the last one. I hope these guys make a diference.
