Razorbacks are Sugar Bowl bound

Put on your Hog hats, stock up on cheap plastic beads, and get ready to drink some hurricanes, Hog fans. The Razorbacks are Sugar Bowl bound.

The Razorbacks will play in their first BSC game in school history when they take on the Ohio State Buckeyes on Tuesday, Jan. 4 at the 77th annual Allstate Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.

“We’re very, very proud to be playing in the Sugar Bowl,” said Razorback head coach Bobby Petrino. “I’m very proud of our football team. I think we’ve had a great year.”

The Hogs needed a little bit of help from the Auburn Tigers to earn their Sugar Bowl berth, but the Tigers took care of the South Carolina Gamecocks in the SEC Championship game, paving the Hogs’ way to New Orleans.

The Hogs finished the regular season ranked 8th in the BCS standings with a 10-2 record. It is only the 8th time in school history that the Razorbacks have finished the regular season with 10 or more wins.

If you’re still hoping to grab tickets to the game, you’ll have to find them online somewhere. The University of Arkansas last night announced that all 17,500 tickets allotted to Arkansas fans for the game are already sold out.
