Don’t expect to pick up a Happy Meal at the McDonald’s on College and Sycamore for a few months. By the time you read this, the restaurant will be gone.
The store – one of the oldest McDonald’s restaurants in the state – is being completely demolished to make room for a brand new building, a spokesman for the company told us today.

The renovated site, located at 1641 N. College Avenue, will feature a retaining wall around the perimeter, a lower elevated parking lot for easier auto access, and a modernized, double-lane drive-thru.
Construction is expected to be complete sometime in April.
