Coming near: Zac Brown Band at Mulberry Mountain April 15

Outside of being the host venue for festivals like Wakarusa and Yonder Mountain String Band’s Harvest Music Festival, Mulberry Mountain hasn’t hosted a lot of single concerts in the past.

That will change soon, however, as Pipeline Productions (the company behind Wakarusa and YMSB’s Harvest Festvial) announced last week that they’re bringing country star Zac Brown Band to the venue for a show on Friday, April 15.

According to organizers, it will be the first time Mulberry Mountain has been opened for a single performance of this size.

Zac Brown Band was last in town for a sold-out show at George’s in March of 2009. Since then, the Atlanta-based group has racked up five number-one singles on the Billboard Country charts, took home the Grammy for Best New Artist in 2010, and were nominated for four more Grammy’s in 2011.

The show on the Mulberry Mountain is one of only four performances scheduled for the band’s 2011 spring tour.

Tickets cost between $39.50 and $60, and go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 11 at pipelineproductions.com, or by calling 785-749-3434. You can also pick them up locally at George’s Majestic Lounge.
