Town and Gown Town Hall Meeting rescheduled for April 20

The Town and Gown Town Hall Meeting which was canceled last month due to a 16-inch-thick snow sandwich, that was dropped on Fayetteville has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 20.

The meeting will take place from 4-6 p.m. on the University of Arkansas campus inside the E.J. Ball Courtroom at the U of A School of Law.

The event, hosted by the university and the City of Fayetteville, is open to anyone interested in knowing more about local government issues. UA students, faculty, staff, and administration are particularly encouraged to attend.

Mayor Lioneld Jordan will be joined by several city staff members to provide information and to offer an opportunity for residents to ask questions about city projects, budget information, policies, and events.

Short presentations will be made by Mayor Jordan and a few city staff members at the beginning of the Town Hall Meeting on topics such as the new city paid parking plan in the Dickson Street Entertainment District; trail construction located at and around the University (such as the UA Farms Trail and the Oak Ridge Trail); the City’s 2030 plan and its importance to the University community; streamside protection; and ideas for student involvement in neighborhoods and an overview of activities in Fayetteville, such as those related to our 70 parks, three lakes, and the City’s active recreation program.

As usual, most of the meeting will be dedicated to answering audience questions.

Refreshments will be provided by the University of Arkansas Associated Student Government.

Directions:
The E.J. Ball Courtroom is located in room 240 of the U of A School of Law building at 1045 W. Maple Street. Enter the building from the south side (Student Union side) and head up the glass staircase in the middle of the lounge. The Town Hall Meeting will be in the first courtroom on the left.
