As if a Block Street Block Party, Bacon Day, and a Star Wars-themed grilled cheese food truck weren’t enough awesome news for one week in Fayetteville, we found some more this afternoon.
Former Fayetteville Visitors Bureau manager Brian Bailey plans to open a clothing, shoe and gift store called The Mustache Goods & Wears this month at 15 S. Block Avenue on the Fayetteville square.
The Mustache will carry American Apparel, Canvas, and Alternative Apparel t-shirts. Brian also plans to stock men’s and women’s shoe brands like PF Flyers, J Shoes, Shellys, Matiko, Osborn, and others.
“We plan to carry a lot of great men’s stuff,” Bailey said. “I wanted a store that will have some brands you can’t really find around here.”
The store will also stock t-shirts designed by local artist Matt Miller, jewelry from designer Lauren Embree, along with Urban-Outfitter-style books, gifts and accessories.
“I think we’ve found a niche that isn’t served very well here,” Bailey said. “I’m just excited to be able to fill that void soon.”
Bailey began putting paper signs in the windows of the building this afternoon. He hopes to open his new store sometime in late April.

Fayetteville hipsters rejoice! I hope they have a bike rack in front to accommodate all the fixed-gear bikes.
It sounds like a neat idea to me. Good work.
yay, brian!
And if anyone knows Brian Bailey, it will only be a short time before he builds a humidor to house some yummy cigars.
Sounds cool
Speaking of Urban Outfitters………when the heck are they coming out our way?!!?
sounds like it’s going to be a cool store – and certainly a niche that’s missing in fayetteville…
i am so excited for ya’ll … sounds amazing and i cannot wait to come and see it soon!!!!
So excited!!! Go Brian Go!!
I love it, but shouldn’t it be ‘Goods and Wares’? I can’t be the first person to notice this error.
“Wears” probably refers to clothing. Clever. A little too clever.
Louisiana likes the name and will shop there this summer…..a winner B cause of U-2
