Disaster emergency proclamation issued for Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS
DISASTER EMERGENCY PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, heavy rains have occurred throughout Washington County over the last week and caused flash flooding and other damage, and additional heavy rains are expected; and,

WHEREAS, immediate attention to such is required to protect the public health and safety;

THEREFORE, I, Marilyn Edwards, County Judge, do find that the aforementioned constitutes a threat to the safety and welfare of the citizens of Washington County, thus, creating an emergency disaster situation within the meaning of A.C.A.ยง12-75-101 et.seq.

NOW, THEREFORE, under the powers vested in me under said statute, I, Marilyn Edwards, County Judge, do hereby declare that an emergency disaster exists.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I set my hand and seal to this instrument this ___ day of April, 2011 at the Washington County Courthouse in Fayetteville, Arkansas. This proclamation shall expire after one hundred twenty (120) days, unless otherwise extended by the Quorum Court.
