Over the past few years, Fayetteville has kind of fallen in love with singer/songwriter Candy Lee.
That love affair will become a long-distance relationship soon, as Lee will be moving herself and her songwriting talents to Jacksonville, Florida after a farewell show set for Sunday, May 1 at Greenhouse Grille.
Lee’s final show in Fayetteville (well, for a while anyway) will start at 5 p.m., and will feature performances by Lacey Morris, Tiffany Christopher, Cadre, Tin Pan Alley Cats, and Candy Lee & The Sweets. Tickets are $10, and will be available at the door the day of the show.
She recently reached her Kickstarter goal of $2,000 to help fund an upcoming east coast tour, and after that, she’ll be settling into her new home-base in Jacksonville.
Lee said that she hopes the move to Florida will help her spread her music to new audiences, but she did promise that she won’t forget about the good folks around here.
“I’m definitely going to miss Fayetteville, but I’ll be back often to play with the Sweets,” she told us recently.
We’re gonna hold you to that, Candy.
