UA Board to host public forums on presidential search

The Board of Trustees of the University of Arkansas will host public forums this week in Little Rock, Pine Bluff and Fayetteville as part of a search for a new president of the University of Arkansas System.

Board of Trustees chair Dr. Carl Johnson will host the forums to give the university community a chance to suggest candidates and provide input on the qualities they’d like to have in a new president. Other UA Trustees will also attend the public forums.

“We want to hear from the constituents of the University of Arkansas System about what type of person they would like to have as our new president,” said Johnson in a statement. “This is a very important search for the future of our university and the state of Arkansas. I hope that people will turn out and give us their thoughts on this process.”

The board of trustees is seeking a replacement for current UA System President B. Alan Sugg, who plans to retire once the search is complete.
