A new Walmart Market opened at 8 a.m. Wednesday (May 18) at 3475 W. Black Forest Drive, just off Wedington Drive in Fayetteville.
The new store is one of Walmart’s grocery concepts, formerly called “Walmart Neighborhood Market.” The company recently announced a plan to drop the word “neighborhood” from its grocery store names.
The 34,999-square-foot store will employ about 90 full and part-time employees, and will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
A ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of the new store was held at 7:30 a.m. this morning.
“The Chamber of Commerce is very excited about the opening of this new Walmart Market,” said Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Steve Clark. “Not only does this mean new jobs but also additional financial investment in Fayetteville, plus a new anchor destination for the expanding growth of our city along the Wedington Drive corridor.”
