Monday To-do: July 25

We’re not sure why we thought of this today, but does anyone remember the Northwest Arkansas Mall before it was expanded? Specifically, do you remember the “food court?”

It’s been a while, but we remember it as just a mess of tables and chairs in the middle of a fairly narrow mall hall.

Securing an empty table was a total pain, especially on a weekend afternoon. There were no aisles, just a clump of furniture and a mob of people holding trays of cooling food. Your best bet was to get in the Chick-fil-A line and cross your fingers for one of their four or five mini booths which were the only non-hallway options in existence.

We’re having a hard time picturing it, and an even harder time remembering what the food options were. All we can think of are Chick-fil-A, Acropolis, and possibly a pizza place.

Any ideas?

Tonight

Tonight’s calendar is short, but that’s how it usually goes this early in the week. There’s a Metal Monday showdown at Rogue with Potions, Oracle, and Scorned, some blues and acoustic jams, karaoke, and a couple of singer-songwriters set to play around town.

Happy new week.
