Back-To-School festival set for Saturday

Families are invited to the 11th annual Back-to-School Family Festival this weekend in preparation for the upcoming school year.

This year’s event is at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 30 in the Tyson Foods parking lot located at 2231 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Participants can expect live entertainment, food, games, and giveaways according to a news release from Restore Community Development Corporation, the sponsor of the event.

College-bound seniors may apply for one-time $500 scholarships. Younger students an receive kindergarten medical physicals and haircut coupons.

Also, 1,000 backpacks full of school supplies will be given to south Fayetteville families.

In case of rain, the event will be moved to Life Harvester Church, 682 S. Government Ave.
