Philadelphia-based band Dr. Dog will make a return trip to Fayetteville soon.

Fayetteville has become kind of a second home for Philadelphia-based band Dr. Dog.

That might be a bit of an exaggeration, but they have stopped in town at least once every year since 2008, and this week, we found out they’ll keep that annual tradition alive when they arrive in town for a Nov. 8 show at George’s Majestic Lounge.

Dr. Dog has been on a bit of a touring break recently while they worked on a follow-up to their 2010 release, Shame, Shame.

They’ll soon emerge from the studio to play a handful of east coast dates with Bright Eyes in September, before a larger scale tour in November will bring them to Fayetteville.

Tickets to the show go on sale on Friday, Aug. 19 at 1 a.m. Supporting act(s), and ticket prices are TBD.

Awesome news! I’m very proud to have been involved in bringing them for their first visit back in ’06.

Will someone please pat me on the back?

I’ve organized events for a lot of bands, Oswald, and it makes me very happy when any of these acts are invited back.
