Update: Oseguera’s / Celi’s is no longer a Flyer sponsor
Here at the Fayetteville Flyer, we love three things; our sponsors, our readers, Fayetteville, tacos, jet packs, and flying cars. OK, we love a lot more than three things.
But of all of those things, there isn’t anything we love more than our sponsors (except for flying cars, but seriously, how cool would that be?)
They keep us going. We love them. They rule.
Our newest sponsor is none other than Celi’s Mexican Grill, also known locally as Oseguera’s and located at 25 E. Center St., just off the Fayetteville square.
The restaurant changed their name recently (Celi is the name of the owners’ daughter), but are still serving up some of the freshest, most delicious Mexican food in Fayetteville. According to the owners, almost everything on the menu from the guacamole to the refried beans, is made from scratch in-house.
They were recently named one of the Top 10 Restaurants to Celebrate Cinco De Mayo by VisitSouth magazine.
Oseguera’s / Celi’s is also home to $5 lunch specials every day (which in our experience, is ready super fast). They also have a happy hour weekdays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., featuring $3 margaritas, $2.75 imported beers, $2 domestics bottles, and $1 tequila shots.
For the next few weeks, you can also “check in” at the Oseguera’s Mexican Cuisine Facebook page, and get a free cheese dip with purchase of an entree.
Please welcome Oseguera’s / Celi’s to the Flyer family by eating some delicious Mexican food at their restaurant, or by drinking one of their tasty beverages. While you’re there, consider telling them thanks for helping support what we do here at the Flyer.

Our last few visits to Oseguera’s/Celi’s have been disappointing. Subpar food (the verde sauce had grey chunks of mystery meat), incorrect orders, and extra charges on our ticket for items we’ve never been previously charged for ($2 for extra tortillas seems a bit steep to me, especially considering the first batch they brought were flour instead of corn as we requested.) It makes me sad, because Oseguera’s has been one of my favorite restaurants for the last 8 years, back when they were down on College where Andy’s Custard is now. I’m really hopeful our bad visits as of late have just been a fluke and our next one will be great. I don’t want to give up on my favorite Mexican restaurant!
I agree, the Oseguera boys need to step it up. It is my favorite restaurant as well, but if they don’t fix a few problems they have then i might have to change my opinion. Get back to the basics and do what yall do best. The main issue for me is the service. Take a look at La Hacienda in Hot Springs (the original Osegueras) they have superb food and excellent service and are still the best Mexican food in the state. I just hope that the Center St location can get it right.
Ditto on La Hacienda. I’ve only tried Oseguera’s three times and every time left unhappy. La Hacienda is superb. And, the other day they had swapped out their hot salsa with a roasted chipotle salsa that was out of this world.
I’ve only been to Oseguera once in my life. The food was OK, not spectacular. The service was TERRIBLE! Our waitress, Christina, took our order, then we didn’t see her again for 30 minutes. The kitchen staff actually had to come out and see about drink refills and such. The man at the bar was far too busy with his own customers to be of any assistance. By pure luck I saw our waitress come back in from outside. She apparently took off for a break while having customers waiting.
They will need far more than a name change to correct the problems they have.
El Camino Real is better than either of those, they’ve opened a new place on the west side of Rogers called El Cantaritos, next to the PepsiCola co. Try their salsa verde if you want a good kick.
