Work from local sculptural basket-maker Leon Niehues will be on display at the Walton Arts Center’s Joy Pratt Markham Gallery next month.

The exhibit, entitled Then and Now, opens Oct. 6 and will include over 20 years of Niehues’ constantly evolving work.

“There is an old saying that it is an artist’s job to keep changing,” he said. “I’ve kept that in mind over the years and make a point to devote time to new ideas each year.”

The show will open with a reception scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 6 at 4:30 p.m., and will run though Dec. 18. The gallery will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free and open to the public.
