Letters in the windows of the Cosmopolitan Hotel in downtown Fayetteville advertise a furniture liquidation sale at the hotel which is currently undergoing major renovations.

After closing for renovations this week, the Cosmopolitan Hotel reopened its doors at 9 a.m. Thursday morning, but not for normal business.

The hotel owners are selling nearly all of the building’s furnishings including mattresses, TVs, dishes and even some exercise equipment.

The line at 8:30 a.m. Thursday

Shortly before the sale began, a line of at least 100 people stretched from the hotel’s main entrance along the sidewalk of East Avenue towards the Fayetteville square.

The line was still fairly long at 11 a.m. as sale administrators were only allowing a limited number of people inside at one time.

Sale hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

According to the International Content Liquidations, Inc. website, the sale will continue until everything is sold.

More information, including photos of many of the items being sold, is available at iclsales.com.

I wish I had known about this about a week before it started. I would have loved to pick up some exercise equipment and a dresser. :-(

Guess I will have to wait for another large hotel to undergo a complete renovation.
