FHS Student Council to hold 14th Annual Homeless Vigil on Dec. 1

The Fayetteville High School Student Council will hold the 14th Annual Homeless Vigil on Thursday, Dec. 1 on the front lawn of the school, located at 1001 W. Stone St.

Students will spend the night in makeshift shelters to raise money and awareness for the Families in Transition program, which helps less fortunate students and their families in the Fayetteville Public Schools system.

The vigil will begin at 5 p.m. and will continue through Friday.

According to district information officer Alan Wilbourn, last year’s vigil raised a record $23,000.

Donations will be accepted at the vigil site on Thursday and Friday, and by mail at:
