Wakarusa is just a few weeks away from releasing the lineup for their 2012 festival, so chances are good that if you haven’t heard from them yet, you’re band is probably not on their booking person’s radar.

That doesn’t mean there’s no chance you’ll play for some of the 20,000 or so folks that show up on the Mulberry Mountain this summer, however. You could win yourself a spot at the Waka Winter Classic in a few weeks.

Wakarusa officials announced that the battle-of-the-bands-style contest will taking place at 14 venues around the country next month, with the local battle set for Jan. 19 at George’s.
