Renowned Grateful Dead percussionist Mickey Hart and his band will perform at George’s Majestic Lounge on Monday, April 23.

Former Grateful Dead percussionist Mickey Hart will be in town for a show at George’s April 23, the venue announced today.

For those who aren’t familiar, Hart spent three decades performing with the Grateful Dead, and was half of the percussion tandem known as The Rhythm Devils along with fellow drummer Bill Kreutzmann.

Hart won the first ever Grammy in the World Music category for his work with Planet Drum in 1991, and has composed music for the the 1996 Olympics, as well as films including Apocalypse Now, Hearts of Darkness, and The Twilight Zone.

Here he is just hanging out with George Lucas at the Skywalker Ranch. He’s pretty famous.

Hart’s band includes Widespread Panic bassist Dave Schools, vocalists Tim Hockenberry and Crystal Monee Hall, guitarist Gawain Mathews, and additional percussionists Sikiru Adepoju and Ian Herman.

Tickets are $30 and go on sale at 1 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7 over on George’s ticketing site.
