Mickey Hart

Former Grateful Dead percussionist Mickey Hart will be in town for a show at George’s April 23, the venue announced on Thursday. Deadheads, rejoice.

When was the last time you saw a dainty woman blow a six-foot fireball out of her mouth? You’ll get a chance when Pretty Things Peepshow arrives at Smoke & Barrel Tavern on Monday, Feb. 27.

Fayetteville artist Jeannie Hulen will unveil a new art installation entitled Made in the USA at Joy Pratt Markham Gallery inside Walton Arts Center next week.

Art Amiss Metal Comp.

The fine folks from Art Amiss are releasing their brand new metal compilation, “The Hills Have Amps” at Smoke & Barrel Friday night. Vore, Potions, and Lightbulb Detective Agency will perform, and attendees will be able to get their hands on the six-song, 12″ splatter-painted vinyl album for $10.

George’s has a happy hour show with Full House, followed by a show with Los Angeles electronic break-beat duo, The Crystal Method. Last we heard, there were a few tickets left, but probably not for long.

There’s a rock show with Glory Bones, Lash Outs and Well, Well, Well at the Lightbulb Club, and locals Chooch and the SideHill Gougers and Honeyshine are at Rogue.

There’s a chocolate party at the Northwest Arkansas Mall on Saturday. It’s called Le Chocolate Feast, and 15 restaurants will bring some sort of chocolate dish for attendees to taste. Tickets are $10 ($5 for kids), and proceeds benefit local cancer charities.

Walton Arts Center has comedian Lewis Black Saturday night. Here’s hoping you already got tickets to this one if you wanted ’em, though. We’re pretty sure this show is totally sold out.

The Pat Green/Brent Cobb show at George’s Saturday night was also close to a sellout last time we heard, just so you know. You could try George’s ticketing site.

Smoke & Barrel has an Aerosault.com party with DJ EQ, and there’s a show at LIT Saturday night with The Poggs and DJ Sugar Shane.

Evan Dando of The Lemonheads

Remember a long time ago when we told you that The Lemonheads were coming to town? Well, Sunday is the night. George’s is the venue. Word is they’re gonna play “It’s A Shame About Ray” in it’s entirety. We’ll see.

UARK Bowl is hosting another one of their Sunday night stand up shows with NBC’s Last Comic Standing contestant, Kristin Key. Tickets are $7 ($5 for students), and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.
