Warren Fyfe, an assistant principal at Ramay Junior High School in Fayetteville, was arrested Wednesday on eight counts of indecent exposure.
Fayetteville police said an investigation began Jan. 29 after a complaint that Fyfe had exercised naked near a window at his home on Ila Street near Wilson Park. During the investigation, police said officers identified eight separate people who had seen Fyfe nude in his window at various times.
According to a statement issue by Fayetteville Public Schools Superintendent Vicki Thomas, Fyfe was placed on administrative leave with pay on Feb. 1 when the district was first notified of the allegations.
Thomas said none of the incidents occurred on school property or at school-related events and that no students or district employees were involved.

Like the guy said on TV, VERY WEIRD! This guy shouldn’t be working w kids.
I agree with you @GoodNeighbor, Mr. Fyfe is a good, decent, and honorable man. I went to school at Ramay Jr. High during 2007-2009 while Mr. Fyfe was there , and it’s just outrageous and absurd to hear about this incident. The real victim here is Mr. Fyfe. I believe this is just an unfortunate case where an innocent man is being falsely accused of this nonesense allegations. It just enrages me to hear what these accusers are claiming, with their lies and disinformation. It just saddens me to see how a perfectly good reputation went down the drain…all because of this. And everything this man has ever worked hard for seems to have been for nothing.
How are you going to feel when you find out he admitted to exposing himself to co-eds? Because he did (admit it)
Mr. Fyfe is a good and decent guy and a great neighbor. The Pi Phi girls are deplorable neighbors this year. They are loud rude and seemingly intoxicated in their parking lot at all hours of the night and early AM. Perhaps they should install a privacy fence so the neighbors don’t have to witness their shenanigans. My grandmother had it right when she said, “Grow up. If it bothers you avert your eyes.” It may well be that Mr. Fyfe is the real victim here.
Sometimes good and decent people have issues and compulsions.
I’m sure everyone walks around naked in their own houses too. I know I do. Seriously, being nude isn’t a strange thing. Isn’t it creepier that these multiple accusers are all looking in his window at different times? Maybe he just needs to invest in some good blinds or curtains.
The window was open and he was waving at girls to get their attention.
He may be showing off for the local sorority girls, but at least he found the motivation to get up and exercise! Let’s all do some squats!
Being naked at home is normal. Exercising naked in front of a window facing the sorority house is pathetic.
I totally agree with walking around naked at home, but if you are doing it in front of a window that is visible to countless number of people walking and driving by then I think action needs to be taken. I sure as hell wouldn’t want my 10 year old daughter seeing a 43 year old man exercising nude. He is an assistant principle and he should have known better. I have a feeling charges will be dropped but his reputation and career are most likely over. I hope working out in the nude in front of a window visible by the public was worth it.
Whole situation sounds like a series of stupid escalations to me. From the article it doesn’t sound like any evidence has been presented, but if this is such a problem it seems it should have been easy to just sit across the street with a camera and collect some evidence rather than just a bunch of complaints. If we can just call it in the police dept and they’ll arrest someone, I can see this being a useful tool for disgruntled neighbors all over town.
Beyond that, a simple knock on the door and “Hey man, you’re freaking out the neighbors” would probably have taken care of the situation just as effectively without creating an embarrassing public spectacle for everyone involved.
As with the tree lights on the square, I again think we’re blessed as a city if these are the biggest problems we face. Too bad dude has to pay the price for it, though.
As a father of young children, I can agree blatant adult nudity on display, even in one’s own home isn’t a bright idea. However, charging him with “8 counts” because 8 seperate people witnessed him nude at different times seems a bit hardcore to me. I would think one count of indecent exposure would suffice and then he’s fairly charged and warned for the future. I’m aware that some people have very unihibited ideas regarding nudity. But, it does seem like he might’ve had a good dose of ego getting the best of him. This story, like a game of “telephone”, got to me as “he was fired for exposing himself at school”. Again, I’d say he made a big dumb mistake. On the other hand, sensationalizing and overstating the matter seems unjust. Gym shorts dude. Gym shorts.
When did Captain America have kids?!
right after he showed her his red skeleton………
Forgot to use his vibranium shield…
you sir are a comic genius.
Gym shorts, Fyfe, gym shorts!
i wander if he was using one of them there shaker weights like on the Tv?
Those people looking into someone’s house should be arrested for invasion of privacy. I walk past this house everyday, and don’t look into the windows. I look where I am walking, and I am not walking into his windows. Of the more than 1000 times I have the passed his house over the last 2.5 years, I have not once seen anything. That is what happens when you are not nosy and respect other people’s privacy.
To paraphrase an old saw, your right to swing your fist stops where my face starts. And your right to privacy stops when your genitals start swinging in an open window.
If your face moved in the direction of my fist, who is the one to blame? me for having a fist, or you for moving your face towards it?
One can’t help wondering who walks past a naked man in his yard waving hello, and doesn’t immediately call 911 ?
Well there’s the fact he wasn’t in his yard but rather inside his house. And I for one wouldn’t call 911 if I was peeping into someone’s house and saw them naked even if they waved.
Newspaper today states he was in the yard, outside.
Oh well, if the newspaper says its true, it must be. Lets not even bother with the courts. The whole innocent until proven guilty is a stupid rule anyway.
Somebody who isn’t perturbed by nudity, perhaps?
If you knew the amount of corruption and sheer craziness that is a significant part of that school system this would not shock you at all.
Ooh– do tell!
It’s pretty petty to lob such an accusation over the fence and not back it up when challenged. So, as David Franks asked, please… by all means, do tell!
We have a weiner!… er…. winner!
Aren’t we missing the point here? What kind of guy exercises naked? That seems really dangerous for a dude.
This is getting ridiculous if a man can be arrested for being naked in his own home because eight peeping toms say that they looked in his window and saw him. If you don’t want to see someone naked, just don’t look in their window!
I’m inclined to agree with this . I’m fairly certain my neighbors are, at times, naked in their homes, but since I don’t stare into their windows, I don’t see them…
When will America get over it’s fear of the nude human body?
Overseas there’s barely a country where nude images aren’t used for everything from advertising to tv, but it’s not necessarily even sexual, more often than not it’s comedic.
Unfortunately the good old southern baptist church and many other churches taught us to be well ashamed of what we got.
Being naked in your home isn’t a crime, no matter your blinds be open or closed. Neither should being naked in public. There are plenty of places in America where it is totally accepted.
