wonder why the city didn’t release an agenda for the Planning Commission this week….
I apologize for not obtaining a Planning Commission meeting agenda this time. I’ve been trying to get in the habit of requesting those, but it slipped my mind on Friday.
It wasn’t posted to the city website either. No big.
Also, its kinda sad watching a few of these planning commissioners grill a developer about parking in a cottage development, when obviously some of these commissioners don’t even understand the concept of a Property Owner’s Association or covenants. Its surprising how little some of these people understand about development in general. I’m embarrassed for the Planning Commission right now. These commissioners need to read up, because some of this stuff they are getting worked up over is really, really elementary stuff that you would learn in a basic real estate class. Apparently the qualifications are rather low for being on this commission. Not speaking about ALL, but only a few. If you propose to be in a position of power over development in Fayetteville, at least respect the position enough to gather a basic understanding of what you are discussing.
That comment is directed at one commissioner who really jumped this guy about how common areas would be maintained in a development, and didn’t seem to grasp the concept of a POA, dues, covenants, etc at all. Sorry, it was just really uncomfortable watching a guy be raked over the coals by someone who didn’t know what they were talking about. Several of our Planning Commissioners are obviously very intelligent and well-informed, even if I disagree with some of their decisions.
