Fayetteville police seized over 10 pounds of marijuana and arrested two men on drug charges last week.
Detectives with the Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force and the Fayetteville Resident Office of the Drug Enforcement Administration conducted surveillance of a known marijuana distribution house at 2986 Old Farmington Rd. in Fayetteville on Friday, Feb. 10. After following two vehicles from the house, detectives notified Fayetteville police officers who later stopped the drivers.
In a news release, police said one vehicle, driven by Monte Gene Reimann, 59, of Great Falls, Mont., was found to contain 10 pounds of marijuana, 33 Adderall pills, cash and drug paraphernalia.
The second vehicle, police said, was driven by a resident of the home, 22-year-old Caleb Daniel Evans. A search of Evans’ house uncovered approximately 377 grams of marijuana, 200 grams of hashish, two firearms, cash and drug paraphernalia.
Both men were arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Purpose to Deliver (marijuana) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Additionally, Evans was charged with Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, while Reimann was charged with Possession with the Purpose to Deliver (Adderall).
The Fourth Judicial District Drug Task Force is comprised of the Fayetteville, Springdale, University of Arkansas, Prairie Grove, Lincoln, Farmington, West Fork, Greenland, Johnson, Elm Springs, and Elkins police departments, as well as the Washington and Madison County Sheriffs’ offices.

Turn around and sell it to dispensaries in Colorado.
That would have added a little more then $5,000 dollars in sales tax revenue if taxed at 8.25%. If they would have used the 10% sales / 5% growers model as in some California counties it would result in a pinch less then $8,000 in taxes. That’s just 10 pounds, not including the hash. I bet the town of Fayetteville consumes at least 10 pounds of marijuana a week. Using a California model that would be roughly $360,000 a year in additional taxes for the city, county, or state.
However, the military industrial complex that runs this country would rather make money selling weapons to fight this war on drugs. America makes its money fighting wars. Now that Iraq and Afghanistan are slowing down the war on drugs will most likely be ramped up.
Meanwhile thousands of people die each year from alcohol, tobacco, and firearms but we go after the reefer heads and red eyed munchie machines causing no harm at all… Anyways, I’m gonna go clean my AK while smokin a fatty and hunt me food for supper.
10 lbs a week would maybe keep Leverett and Garland in trees.
Fayetteville is much more laid back than the rest of NWA.
I’m suddenly craving a big bowl of Lucky Charms.
YES, this needs a “like” button… cus this made me laugh.
I’m relieved to see that public support regarding the failed “war on drugs” appears to be in decline. These busts make great stories but I’m curious about the details. Prescription pills, weed, hash, guns. Sounds positively evil on the surface. If the guns were legally owned and someone had a prescription, the story gets decidely less potent. We have paid people to surveil them and arrest them and will continue to pay now to prosecute and incarcerate them…probably for a good long while. Then, the prison system gets to begin their shameful money-sqeezing racket. Yeah, I just don’t care that much if a people have weed and guns.
Bill are you high??
Hey anyone know where to apply for Fayetteville PD?
Yeah, I think this story got linked…..
@glutenfree Yes. Caleb Evans is a former Razorback Football player.
Well since the Montana home grown reefer is off the streets we can look to violent mexican bloodweed to fill our needs.
More outsourcing of American jobs….
Since this was in Fayetteville I suppose we can assume that the Police no other priorities?
I would say 10 pounds of pot is a pretty good priority.
The Fayetteville police are proud of this? Why? They found ten pounds of the safest medicine on earth and now they seek to destroy it. They will send these two men to prison for probably 5 years each costing the Arkansas tax payers an insane amount of money (Arkansas prisons currently cost tax payers 128 million annually). To the police officers who made this arrest, shame on you, how many members of your family use marijuana? Would you like to see them in prison as well? You unfaithful group of swine! How many real crimes were taking place while dealing with this miniscule medicinal invasion? What, sitting on the side of the road and writing tickets has became so boring that you need justification by sending two decent men to prison? Thank God that I do not live in a town who glamorizes the war on drugs as much as Fayetteville Arkansas. In fact, the investment your state now has to make to detain these two is if anything a victory to the drug campaigns, you put an tiny dent in the supply chain while keeping the demand high~genius!
