Cake frontman John McCrea sings at the Arkansas Music Pavilion in May 2009.

With no confirmation from AMP or Walton Arts Center officials yet and Fayetteville, AK (Alaska) listed as a tour stop on the band’s website, we can’t guarantee that Cake is coming back to town for another show at the Arkansas Music Pavilion on April 19.
Update: Looks like the Cake website was updated to read Fayetteville, AR instead of AK.

We wouldn’t place any bets against it, though.
The band was last in town in May 2009 for a very wet season-opening show at the AMP.
If the show is a go, it’s an interesting development seeing as it’s only two days before the April 21 Big Gigantic concert which we thought would be the first of the 2012 AMP season.
We’ll update this post once we know more. Update: Tickets to the show go on sale on Feb. 24 at 9 a.m. at waltonartscenter.org, and range from $25-87.
Cake was on Conan last week to perform “Mustache Man,” a song from their sixth full-length studio album Showroom of Compassion.

crap – once again all these places book the same bands
*FACE PALM* Were the Counting Crows busy? What about the Gin Blossoms?
Yay! i was almost blown away by a tornado during their last show and had water up to my shins. Beer cans floating past me. I heart cake
At least Cake is somewhat a decent band.
I saw Cake last summer at Memphis in May and they really put on a GREAT show. I’ve seen a lot of shows in my day and they are definitely in my top 10 all time, they brought a lot of energy to the stage really had the audience involved. Can’t wait to see them again… too bad the AMP is one of the worst venues to see a show.
