The old Circuit City Building will soon be home to a Mattress Firm, our sources tell us.

Anyone concerned with the amount of vacant real estate along Joyce Boulevard can rest a little easier this week. It appears as though a national retailer will soon be opening in the old Circuit City building.
We’re still waiting for official confirmation, but sources suggest that Mattress Firm, a retail chain with over 700 stores in 23 states, is currently renovating the building at 744 E. Joyce Blvd. It would be the third Mattress Firm location in Arkansas.
The nearly 21,000-square-foot building has been vacant since November 2008, when Circuit City’s bankruptcy forced the location to close.
It’s clear there is work being done on the building (see photo above). City planning staff said a building permit was issued to Georgia-based contractor, DLP Construction for a tenant finish-out valued at $450,000. DLP’s website lists Mattress Firm as a client.
