News Briefs

A sign announces plans for a planned 22,000-square-foot Liberty Bank center on Joyce Boulevard in Fayetteville.

Todd Gill, Fayetteville Flyer

Liberty Bank officials last week broke ground on a planned two-story, 22,000-square-foot flagship banking center near the intersection of Joyce Boulevard and Vantage Drive in Fayetteville. Howard R. Hamilton, the bank’s northwest regional president and chief operating officer, said the new facility shows the bank’s “commitment to serving the life-long financial needs of our customers in Northwest Arkansas.” Liberty Bank has 45 banking centers in Arkansas with several NWA locations in Bentonville, Fayetteville, Fort Smith, Gentry, Rogers, Siloam Springs, Springdale, Tontitown and Van Buren.

About 50 people attended last night’s Town Hall Meeting to hear Mayor Jordan and various department directors discuss what’s been happening in the city over the past few months.

The A&P Commission met for its regular monthly meeting yesterday in the Fayetteville Town Center. Here’s a recap of what was discussed.

First Thursday Fayetteville returns to the downtown square for its third season Thursday, April 5, and officials are seeking local artists and non-profit organizations to fill booth space for the evening.

Fayetteville police say a man under investigation for sexual assault could have more victims.

@ Todd Gill, stunning image of Liberty Bank in the “Dear Photograph” style (the hit website), but reversed — the interior picture is the future instead of the past. Brilliant trick-photo.

Bet the bank folks would love a print if they haven’t shot the same idea already.

Keep up the good work Fayetteville Flyer.
