If this rain continues for much longer, University of Arkansas students are going to need a kayak to get to class when they return from Spring Break next week.

Come this summer, they may actually be able to buy one on campus. Springdale-based outdoor store Lewis & Clark Outfitters announced that the company will soon expand to the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.

A call to the store manager Rob Potts was not immediately returned, but according to the company’s Twitter account, they plan to open in one of the three empty spaces lining the front of the Garland Center sometime in June.

Lewis & Clark would be the eighth business to open in the mixed-use parking and retail facility located at 616 N. Garland Ave. TCBY, Belle Boutique, Enrich Salon, Subway, Mertin’s Eye Care, University of Arkansas Bookstore, and Walmart on Campus are already operating in the building.

The company currently operates two stores in Northwest Arkansas, with locations in Springdale and Rogers.

Update: We heard from Rob Potts from Lewis & Clark this afternoon. He said the store will be a scaled-down version of their other stores, just without the bikes and kayaks.
