News Briefs

The Arkansas Music Pavilion tent was recently installed at its new location in the southeast corner of the Washington County Fairgrounds.

Arkansas Music Pavilion officials have so far announced six shows for the 2012 season including Cake, Wilco, and most recently Ted Nugent. The venue moves to a new location this year at the Washington County Fairgrounds.

Demolition of Maple Street Apartments this week brought yet another sign that a large-scale student housing complex – 555 Maple – is on its way. Developers for the project are also planning major complexes just around the corner on Lafayette Street and across from the UA campus on Cleveland Street.

Speaking of demolition, the Fayetteville High School gyms are being torn down this week. Work began this morning, according to a photo album posted to the district’s Facebook page.

The City Council last night approved a design contract for a southern extension of Frisco Trail which would stretch a half mile from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Walker Park.

In business news, Lewis & Clark Outfitters is opening a location on the UA campus and Farrell’s Lounge is expanding on Dickson Street.

Backwords has had to cancel their performance tonight, sadly.
The $5 cover will start around 9, with The Sun Parade going on around 10 and JP & The Gilberts playing two sets afterwards until last call.
    Hope to see you there!

Nice to see The AMP pic of the tent raised up now relocated in Washington County Fairgrounds.

Looking forward to seeing live music there. Dgold, Honest FM
