Farrell’s Lounge has only been open for a little under two years, but the restaurant space at 311 W. Dickson St. is already bursting at the seams.
So much so, in fact, that owner Tim Farrell Jr. told us this week he has leased the space next door (formerly occupied by White Rabbit Hookah Lounge) and is planning an expansion project set to begin this summer.
“We weren’t here very long before we started wishing we had more space,” Farrell said. “We’ll be able to add about 32 to 35 seats with this expansion.”
The extra space (about 1,000 square feet) will allow more room for private parties and large groups, as well as much needed overflow space during weekends and on game days, Farrell said.
Other improvements, including re-organization of the kitchen and improved access to the restroom area, will also occur during the expansion process.
If all goes according to plan, the renovations will begin during a slow period in July, and should be complete in plenty of time for football season.
“I hope we don’t have to close for more than a week, maybe two,” said Farrell. “We’re excited to get it done.”
