A crowd of Razorbacks fans turned out to show support for suspended head football coach Bobby Petrino at a rally held Monday evening on the University of Arkansas campus.
The event was organized by Amy Payne and Matt Couch, the folks behind the Team Save Coach Petrino Facebook group that had grown to include over 19,000 members (note: Facebook Groups members can be added without their knowledge or consent) as of Monday night.
Couch and Payne addressed the crowd briefly before leading a Hog Call, and dismissing attendees.
“None of us are condoning what (Petrino) did,” Couch told the crowd gathered at The Gardens near Razorback Stadium. “We’ve got to forget, forgive, and win, and move on with this situation. We don’t want to lose Coach Petrino.”
A second rally is planned for 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 14, also at The Gardens.
