Officials with the city of Fayetteville’s Parks and Recreation Department will host a ribbon-cutting to celebrate a new interpretive sign and trail improvements at Mount Sequoyah Woods.

The ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11.

The sign, located near the trailhead at Paddock Road on the south side of the property, illustrates and describes the natural trails, flora, and wildlife at Mount Sequoyah Woods.

Parking is available along Paddock Road.

The sign was made possible by a partnership between the city, the Fayetteville Natural Heritage Association, the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service and the Beaver Watershed Alliance. Funding for the sign was provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission through a USEPA Section 319(h) grant.
