Mayor Lioneld Jordan will lead the first children’s trail tour of the year this Saturday, April 21.

The event is set to begin at 10 a.m. in front of the Fayetteville Public Library, 401 W. Mountain St.
The group will then head to the Frisco Trail entrance near the recently-painted storm drain at West Avenue. From there, participants will head north on the trail to Wilson Park.

The trail access at West Avenue is very steep, so anyone wishing to skip that area should join the tour shortly after 10 a.m. at the trail crossing on Center Street (free parking lot directly west of the crossing).

The tour is part of the Let’s Move Fayetteville, a local initiative of the nationwide Let’s Move campaign launched by First Lady Michelle Obama to combat childhood obesity by encouraging healthy lifestyles at an early age.

To volunteer or for more information, call Julie McQuade, the city’s community outreach coordinator at 479-575-8302.
