Volunteers are needed for a tree, grass and shrub planting event from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 8 at Sweetbriar Park, 2645 E. Sweetbriar Dr. in Fayetteville.
The planting will take place along Niokaska Creek at the site of a recent stream bank stabilization and restoration project.
Native plants will be provided by the Washington County Cooperative Extension Service.
Volunteers are encouraged to bring gloves, hand gardening tools, picks, shovels and wheelbarrows if possible.
Snacks, drinks and pizza will be provided to participants
