News Briefs

The Old Post Office stands in the middle of the downtown square Monday afternoon. Purchase negotiations have ended between the Fayetteville A&P Commission and the building’s owner.

The Fayetteville Advertising and Promotion Commission has officially ended negotiations to purchase the Old Post Office building. Fayetteville Underground artists will instead to move to a different location on the square.

In other A&P news, the commission awarded $159,200 to help fund 18 projects during its regular spring special funding discussion Monday afternoon.

Traffic will continue to be restricted to one lane on sections of Crossover Road for the next eight weeks. Flagmen will direct drivers through the work zone between Highway 45 and Joyce Boulevard from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
