News Briefs

Several city officials, Council members, and a handful of others break ground on a roundabout construction project at the intersection of Futrall Drive and Northhills Boulevard, just off the Fulbright Expressway.

Officials broke ground yesterday on the city’s first modern roundabout, a long-planned project set to be constructed near Washington Regional Medical center in north Fayetteville.

A large-scale sculpture from “stickwork” artist Patrick Dougherty is under construction on the Walton Arts Center’s main plaza. The work was commissioned as part of this year’s Artosphere Festival and is being created by Dougherty and several local volunteers.

Tickets are sold out, but for those who were wondering, Carrie Underwood, Aerosmith and Cheap Trick will all perform during this year’s Walmart Shareholders Meeting in Fayetteville.
