The Arkansas men’s basketball team is on the schedule to play in the 2012 Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational later this year.
The Razorbacks are one of four teams who will play at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas Nov. 23-24. The other teams are Creighton, Arizona State and Wisconsin.
This is the first announced piece of the 2012-13 basketball schedule (the Maui Invitational news we posted in February is for the 2013-14 season).
The Razorbacks will play in Las Vegas for just the second time in school history with the previous outing coming in December 1989 when the 11th-ranked hoops Hogs fell to 12th-ranked UNLV, 101-93.
While game times and opponents for the tournament have yet to be determined, Arkansas has a combined 2-1 record against teams participating in this year’s event. The Razorbacks are 1-1 against Creighton and 1-0 against Arizona State all-time. The Hogs have never played against Wisconsin in men’s basketball.
Tickets ($90-$170) for the event may be purchased through the Razorback Ticket Office beginning July 1 or directly through the Orleans Arena box office beginning Saturday, May 19.
