Visit our dunking booth during the Block Street Block Party this Sunday

We’ll have Flyer t-shirts and stickers at our Block Street Block Party booth.

When was the last time you saw an old fashioned dunking booth?

One where someone sits perched atop a water tank while kids, older kids, and adult kids try to hit a target with a ball, resulting in the person being dropped into a water tank?

Yeah, it had been a while since we’d seen one, too. That’s why we decided to rent one for the Block Street Block Party on Sunday.

We’ll be raising funds for Feed Fayetteville, a local nonprofit that battles hunger and food insecurity in Northwest Arkansas. Thanks to our friends over at Hugo’s restaurant, the rental fee is covered so that 100% of the proceeds benefit the organization.

Local political figures like Justin Tennant, Sarah Lewis, Matthew Petty, Rhonda Adams, Mark Kinion, Greg Leding, David Whitaker and Eva Madison have agreed to sit in the tank during the party. Comedian Troy Gittings from Parade of Fools, Amanda Rey from West Street Blues Band, and Brian Bailey from The Mustache Goods & Wears have also agreed to get wet for a good cause. I’m going to sit in there myself for a bit.

The dunking will happen every hour, on the hour in the parking lot across from Sound Warehouse from 1 to 6:30 p.m.

We’ll have some Flyer t-shirts for sale for $10, and we’ll give away free stickers.

Stop by and say hello, why don’t you?
