Thousands of residents filled the street, sidewalks and local businesses along Block Avenue Sunday afternoon in Fayetteville for the 2012 Block Street Block Party. Here’s a set of photos we snapped during the event.

It’s set to be a fairly quiet week at City Hall. Here are this week’s scheduled public meetings.

J.T. Wampler reviews Sierra Nevada Summerfest in his latest It’s All About The Beer column.

University of Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long addressed reports that he is a candidate for the vacant seat at Stanford University in a statement released Friday morning.

Speaking of the Hogs, the Arkansas men’s basketball team is on the schedule to play in the 2012 Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational later this year.

Monday Events

Alley 38

The first performance of Alley 38, a theatrical walking expedition through downtown Fayetteville, is tonight. The event is part of this year’s Artosphere festival. Audiences will meet at the northeast corner of Block Avenue and Spring Street at 7:30 p.m. each night this week. Tickets are $12 at waltonartscenter.org.

Also tonight, Greenhouse Grille hosts the Sustainable Wine and Local Food Tasting, comedian Gabriel Igelsias is at Walton Arts Center, and Andy Frasco is at Tanglewood Branch Beer Company.
