Two burlesque shows set at Smoke & Barrel Tavern this week

The folks at Smoke & Barrel Tavern are delivering a double-dose of good news to local burlesque lovers this week.

For one, Go-Go Amy and friends from Pretty Things Peepshow are back in town for a show tonight (May 29).

For two, Hot Springs-based Foul Play Cabaret is set to perform at the club on Friday, June 1.

For those keeping score at home, that’s two nights of sideshow acts and tassel-twirling action in the span of four days.

Pretty Things Peepshow – Tuesday, May 29

Smoke & Barrel has become a regular tour stop for Pretty Things Peepshow, whose show features everything from sword swallowing, whip cracking, human blockhead-ing, straight jacket escaping, fire-breathing, and of course, sexy burlesque-ing.

The troupe was last in town in February, and will be back tonight with a new show, new costumes, and a new tour bus.

Tickets are $15 at the door. Last we heard, there were still some tickets available.

Foul Play Cabaret (appearing with The Holy Shakes) – Friday, June 1

Foul Play Cabaret

Foul Play Cabaret is a relatively new burlesque troupe from Hot Springs who will be making their first trip to Fayetteville this week.

The troupe has been gaining momentum over the past year, and will be kicking off a tour with awesome Hot Springs band The Holy Shakes.

You might remember The Holy Shakes from Paste Magazine’s list of 12 Arkansas Bands You Should Listen To Now. They’re also celebrating the release of their brand new album, “Feast or Famine.”

Tickets are $10 at the door.
