A crew puts the finishing touches on a chill zone on the main lawn of the Wakarusa festival grounds Wednesday.

As usual on Wakarusa Eve, there was plenty left to do in preparation opening day of the annual camping and music festival when we arrived Wednesday afternoon.
The lights had yet to be raised above the main stage, dozens of signs were still scattered in stacks across the lawn, and the promised four-plus-story-tall water slide was seemingly still waiting to be assembled.
Still, not a single person seemed the slightest bit worried. Things are a little more relaxed on Mulberry Mountain.
To their credit, the Wakarusa staff and its army of volunteers have yet to let us down since the festival moved to Northwest Arkansas in 2009. In fact, things just get better and better.
Here are a handful of photos from Wakarusa Eve. See you on the mountain?
