If you’ve been thinking about adopting a dog or a cat, now might be the time to go for it. The Fayetteville Animal Shelter is offering $10 adoptions through Friday, June 15.

Shelter officials are offering the discounted adoption fees to try and counteract an influx of over 100 dogs and cats, including 25 from a single household that were recently brought to the shelter.

“We had planned to do a similar one-day event later this summer,” said Justine Middleton, shelter superintendent. “But we felt like now was the time to try and place as many pets as possible into homes.”

Interested would-be adopters should stop by the Fayetteville Animal Shelter and fill out an adoption application. All pets will be spayed or neutered before going home, and will be vaccinated and microchipped.

The shelter, located at 1640 South Armstrong Avenue, is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Find yourself a furry friend.
