A little over a year after opening their first store on the Fayetteville square, The Mustache Goods & Wears owners Brian and Ashley Bailey are preparing to open store number two.

The couple have partnered with Ashley’s parents, Michael and Lori Fast, to open another version of their popular clothing, gifts, and novelty store at 113 W. Central Ave. on the Bentonville square.

A sign for the new store was installed earlier today.

“It’s incredibly exciting,” Brian told us. “Just to know that our brand is already recognized there, and to potentially be a part of the growth that is happening in Bentonville. We’re thrilled.”

The Mustache has been a hit in Fayetteville since opening last April. The store carries a large selection of unique t-shirts, men’s and women’s clothing, shoes, hand-made jewelry, accessories, and gift items.

Brian said the new store will carry an inventory similar to what can be found at the Fayetteville location, plus some additional brands for variety.

“We’re carrying a lot of the same lines, and we’re adding a few,” he said. “Basically, if you’re used to the Fayetteville store, you’ll feel right at home at the Bentonville location.”

If all goes according to plan, the new store will open in mid-July, with a grand opening planned during the August installment of Bentonville’s First Friday art walk on Aug. 3.

Rightly so, and get in while you can. Downtown Bentonville’s little Norman Rockwell square is undergoing a renaissance. Packed farmer’s market, friendly food truck regs (Greenhouse, Crepes Paulette, Pedal Pops, all excellent), great newish eateries, and right down a scenic walking trail from Crystal Bridges. A neatly done bar even opened, which is 180 degrees from the singular chill of reactionary corporate gloom that used to squat over Bentonville.
